  • Overview

    This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the areas of responsibility assigned; including category management, virtual inventory program support and development and logistics analysis and management. The position is held accountable for income maximization, profit contribution, developing sources of supply, product assortment, pricing, promotion and training of our Sales Associates. Manager is responsible for vendor relations, including program negotiations and development, cost of goods, service level performance and all inventory related issues including aged inventory elimination.


    We do background investigations and drug tests.



    Logistics Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with FSA’s affiliated logistics company – Gampac
    • Analyze and monitor logistics profitability
    • Evaluate potential inbound freight and fuel rate changes
    • Track changes in fuel costs and update fuel surcharges when recommended
    • Ensure inbound freight rates are in compliance with established guidelines and internal standards
    • Work with Procurement and Category Managers with evaluation, approval and implementation of new freight opportunities
    • Manage claims for damaged and shorted products, including working directly with vendors and/or Gampac for satisfactory resolution.
    • Track and maintain records of vendor pickup allowances
    • Other projects as assigned


    Virtual – Non-Stock Inventory Responsibilities: (Customer Direct Delivery)

    • Research and develop new programs for sources of supply
    • Maintain and support all FSA Corporate virtual inventory programs.
    • Educate and train Sales Associates on all aspects of the programs
    • Manage and support all IT related issues regarding communication and transmission of data
    • Work with Sales leadership to identify potential vendor and item opportunities
    • Other projects as assigned


    Consolidation Program Responsibilities:

    • Manage all programs aligned with sourcing from consolidation vendors (DOT, Alpine etc.)
    • Ensure the maximization of all procurement incentives
    • Analyze potential benefits of moving sourcing from direct purchasing to consolidation programs and/or consolidation programs to direct purchase
    • Coordinate with Category and Procurement Managers transfers of business.
    • Negotiate “best price” pricing with vendors
    • Negotiate and develop rebate and cost build up programs
    • Other projects as assigned

    • Bachelor Degree Preferred – Industry experience considered
    • Minimum four (4) years of Procurement or Logistics or Category Manager experience
    • Basic Computer Skills (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote)
