  • Work closely with FSA’s affiliated logistics company, Gampac.
  • Assist buyers with freight related issues on Gampac and backhaul loads.
  • Build productive working relationships with buyers, warehouse associates, backhaul team, category managers, and Gampac associates.
  • Assist Director of Procurement to monitor logistics profitability and evaluate potential inbound freight rate changes.
  • Track changes in fuel costs and update fuel surcharge when recommended by Gampac.
  • Ensure FSA Seattle and FSA Anchorage inbound freight rates are in compliance with established guidelines and internal standards.
  • Assist with evaluation, approval, and implementation of new freight opportunities.
  • Manage claims for damaged and shorted product, including working directly with vendors and/or Gampac for satisfactory resolution.
  • Research and resolve freight variances between invoiced amounts and FSA’s purchase orders.
  • Maintain comprehensive list of items with special freight attached, updating items as needed.
  • Track and maintain records of vendor pick up allowances.
  • Other special projects as assigned.



  • 2+ years of one of the following required: procurement experience, logistics experience, related work experience with FSA/Gampac/another SGA company.
  • High school diploma required, 2+ years of college preferred.
  • Foodservice experience highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of the trucking industry required.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Office applications required.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload required.
  • Must be customer focused and able to provide excellent service for internal and external customers.
  • Must have the ability to work well with all levels of customers and associates.
  • Understanding of supply chain, especially procurement and warehousing helpful.
  •  Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test.
