Overview

Responsible for the management of the QA and inventory processes, collaborating across departments, to ensure food safety and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the implementation of process improvement plans in partnership with our operations staff in areas affecting inventory accuracy and food safety
  • Develop and execute training programs that support FSA’s objective with regard to quality and food safety
  • Primary contact and facilitator for food safety regulatory agencies and actively works with external auditors, such as USDA, Silliker, etc.
  • Responsible for the implementation, development and documentation of programs aimed at reducing overall inventory damage and shrink
  • On-going responsibility for the management of inventory, food safety and HACCP plans
  • Oversee recalls to ensure appropriate contacts are made
  • Perform monthly audits of warehousing practices related to food safety, inventory control, damage, shrink and security.  Present action items to appropriate parties and follow up to ensure completion of action items
  • Ensure all new regulations are quickly and accurately implemented
  • Apply administrative and record-keeping processes to support the necessary programs
  • Communicate quality related information to customers and other external contacts
  • Manage, develop and train QA Associates
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Some college coursework in food science, business, project management or a related field
  • 3-5 years in QA food experience
  • 2 years of prior management experience
  • HACCP certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to pass a background investigation and drug test
  • Strong Customer Service orientation
  • Ability to be on call during off work hours
