    Food Services of America, Inc. is one of the nation’s largest broad-line food distributors, providing a full spectrum of food and supplies to our customers throughout the western and mid-western states.  Our customers include independent and chain restaurants, schools, hospitals, hotels, and government foodservice operations.

    Responsibilities

    The Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for partnering and collaborating with business users, IT and 3rd party vendors to help deliver meaningful business solutions.  Successful candidates will identify opportunities for improvements in systems and processes and work with other IT Associates to define changes or solutions.  This role assesses system impacts, provides gap and process analysis as well as cost/benefit analysis for systems and new initiatives.  An ideal candidate utilizes critical thinking to tackle complex challenges and business problems for the Enterprise.  They will have a pulse on the business while listening and learning from Associates the best practices for the business and share that knowledge with other IT Associates to ensure our solutions are complete.  The Business Systems Analyst will also act as a strategic partner between the business and IT to resolve functional and technical issues related to business applications.  They play a key role during implementations of systems to ensure successful delivery.

    Qualifications

    Prerequisites

    • 5+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role
    • Bachelor’s Degree OR a High School Diploma/GED and 7+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role gathering and documenting requirements
    • Foodservice industry preferred

    Job Expectations and Responsibilities

    • Serve as a liaison between IT, the business and/or 3rd party vendors to participate and/or facilitate in the identification of business solutions, process improvements and technical designs
    • Expert ability to conceptualize complex business problems and translate them into easy to understand concepts
    • Expert ability to identify, analyze and interpret business needs and propose recommendations while recognizing systems design and data interdependencies
    • Expert understanding of system development and product development life cycles with both purchased and in-house developed applications
    • Strong knowledge of an Agile/Scrum software development life cycle, continuously navigating idea conception thru change management, rollout and implementation
    • Identify, analyze and interpret business needs and propose recommendations while recognizing system design and data interdependencies
    • Exceptional customer services skills while working to identify and implement business solutions
    • Strong business and technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables
    • Ability to manage several projects with shifting priorities and timeframes
    • Provide technical assistance when necessary for development or support tasks
    • Analyze requests for application enhancements or upgrades to determine impact to business or integrated systems
    • Identify gaps between current applications and future requirements that have evolved due to organizational growth or strategy changes
    • Help QA teams with end-user acceptance for testing of system enhancements or changes with end-users
    • Identify and communicate project risks and recommend solutions
    • Drive efficiency and operational improvement through business process definition, system alignment and the optimization of business application functionality
    • Willing to review your own strengths and opportunities as they relate to your competencies, and work with your Director to choose an area of developmental focus on an annual basis

    Team Culture

    • This position works out of the Scottsdale Office with the ability to work from a home office as needed or scheduled.  Most of the IT teams work in a “Virtual Office” environment, meaning the IT associates you will be working with all work from their home offices and candidates must be comfortable collaborating in this environment.
    • This Virtual Office team collaborates using tools like Microsoft Skype, Microsoft Teams and webcams.
    • The IT team makes use of daily Status Reports and time tracking tools such as Microsoft Project and Zendesk.
    • Occasional travel will be required to SGA Operating Units.
