Overview

A Software Quality Assurance Analyst works closely with our development teams to ensure quality delivery of high quality applications.  They will lead and coordinate the testing effort of software projects to actively find weak spots, collaborate with various teams and ensure that our software is meeting expected design and functionality standards.  A Software Quality Assurance Analyst will design, create and maintain the automated test framework.  They will write test plans and test cases against requirements, execute tests, log and retest defects, perform regression testing, support the release of applications into production, provide ongoing testing for maintenance and enhancements and provide risk assessment and status reporting to help keep projects on track.

Responsibilities

  • Guide development project teams in delivering a quality software product through collaboration with the Product Owners, Business System Analysts and Software Developers
  • Lead and coordinate the testing effort utilizing existing team members to achieve project goals and quality standards
  • Coordinate, lead, write, and execute all testing related efforts, i.e. regression, functionality, script development, and load and stress testing when necessary
  • Coordinate QA tasks and priorities for each project
  • Create and maintain master test plans for the project
  • Research, identify, design, develop and maintain/enhance test framework software as needed
  • Identify necessary QA/testing environments and monitor/administer the test-environments as needed
  • Monitor defect tracking for each project, ensuring proper follow-through and resolution of issues and provide high level defect tracking status updates
  • Must be able to plan, implement and execute functional, integration, system, stress, load and performance tests in an agile environment
  • Able to learn organization's primary tools. Maintains code for existing test frames and test cases and extends the automated test coverage on assigned projects with minimal direction or mentoring. Follows established coding standards.
  • Understands defined process and standards for deliverables and able to work within existing process with minimal direction or mentoring
  • Understands industry's current technology, practices, and tools/techniques relative to test automation and can apply techniques to task level assignments
  • Create and maintain best practice guidelines for Quality Assurance practices

Qualifications

Core Skills

The following is a list of Core Job Skills that prospective Quality Assurance Analyst should possess.

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience Windows client/server and/or web based applications required
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Test tools.  Exposure to Microsoft's Team Foundation Server (TFS), knowledge of Microsoft's Test Manager (MTM) with experience in Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools
  • Must have 3-4 years of automation experience with at least one year of experience in Microsoft Coded UI or C#
  • Must have strong experience with MS SQL
  • Must have experience with Scrum processes and terminology such as Sprint, Product Backlog Item, and Task
  • Must have strong experience and background in QA processes: development and implementation of documented process including automated and manual test processes, test case design, functional, integration, system and regression testing, entrance and exit criteria, metrics, reporting and status.
  • Development experience in C#.net, ASP.net preferred
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test
