This position is responsible for sorting product in foodservice distribution warehouse. Proper performance of these functions facilitates a smooth and efficient movement of the produce to designated warehouse storage areas.  Tasks are performed with minimal supervision and the end result of their efforts should be a reduction in the amount of time required by lift operators in the process of moving the product in a safe and efficient manner to designated warehouse storage areas. Must use good judgment when evaluating product to ensure standards for quality are met.


This position will also serve as a lead to other Orders Selectors in the absence of the supervisor.


  • Use electric pallet jack or manual pallet jack, unload inbound freight from containers using proper high and tie methods. 
  • Organize product in customer-delivery order and assist Driver/Warehouseman in loading and delivering to customers. 
  • Practice good customer relations.
  • Ensures all necessary products are inspected for quality on a daily basis to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures all products are sorted.
  • Identify product issues and communicate concerns to other supervisors and/or take necessary action. 
  • Make room for incoming trucks.
  • Follow up to make sure all product rotation is correct based on dates.
  • Replenish items to meet par levels.
  • Count and/or weigh number of units of product moved or handled.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases or other containers.
  • Computer work and give direction and answer questions in absence of supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.




  • Frequently lift using both hands/arms reaching, grasping and carrying, weights up to 30 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs., rarely up to 100 lbs.
  • Good attendance required.
  • Good communication & customer service skills; ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Computer skills, MS Office.


  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Leadership experience desired.
